How To Run WhatsApp :

1. Get The Google Chrome Browser.
2.Download the Arc Welder App from Chrome Web Store.
3.Download the .apk file of whatsapp from whatsapp.com
4.Run the Arc Welder from Chrome App Launcher.
5.Click on ” add your .apk ” and locate to whatsapp.apk file.
6.Select your preferred customizations for orientation and form factor,and leave the clipboard access to YES.

7.Click On “Launch App” .
8.Now Whatsapp will run,alternately you can run it again from Chrome App Launcher .

9.WhatsApp Verification to be done for a phone number.

10.SMS verification will fail,for Voice verification,Click on “Call Me”
11.After the verification is done. You are ready to WhatsApp your friends!

Some Downsides :

Although its pretty easy to setup whatsapp on your laptop/PC but this means you can not use WhatsApp from same number on your Mobile Phone.As WhatsApp only allows one app a phone number at a time.This can also be blessing for people who needed WhatsApp for desktop only,like me.Secondly What I found was that whatsapp uses our phone’s contacts.But the Arc welder can not import contacts yet so users of WhatsApp with Arc Welder are stuck with only replying to the people who have messaged them,cant create a new chat with a new person.Apart from this,Arc Welder seems to me as a better and cleaner option than traditional android emulators.Some of the downsides might be soon rectified by the developers.

Yet If you want to use WhatsApp on an android emulator Its quiet elementary too!
